Acceptance and Commitment Therapy is not there to fix you, but to empower you, helping you cultivate psychological flexibility so you can live more fully and meaningfully.

Acceptance Commitment Therapy is a ‘behavior therapy’. It’s about taking action, but not just any action. It’s about the kind of action that’s being led by your core values; you act like the person you would like to be.

It’s about raising questions like; What would you like to stand for in your life? If you look deep within, what do you find truly important? How would you like to treat yourself and those around you?

By embracing acceptance and committing to living a life guided by personal values, you go on a journey of self-discovery and transformation.

No longer will you be burdened by the need to control or avoid discomfort, but you can live a life of authenticity, connection, and purpose.

ACT provides the tools to navigate life's challenges gracefully
and find fulfillment even in the face of adversity.

How Acceptance and Commitment Therapy can help

ACT is not about pushing away your pain or “fixing” everything. Instead, it offers practical tools to change your relationship with your thoughts and feelings. Together, we’ll work on:

  • Creating space for difficult emotions, so they no longer control your life

  • Learning to be more present and mindful in daily moments

  • Building clarity around your values, the things that give your life meaning

  • Taking small, committed steps toward the life you want to live

Through ACT, you can cultivate openness, compassion, and resilience. Even when challenges remain, you can move forward with a greater sense of purpose and connection.

Acceptance and commitment to myself

When I started the ACT training I was just coming out of a difficult periode. To be guided during this time with ACT was truly a gift to myself.

For me ACT is like a summery of all that I learned and practiced before, combined in a coaching frame. In ACT we like to increase the psychological flexibility for ourselves and the coachee with the following skills;

  • Being present, clarifying values, committed action, self as context, awareness of thoughts (defusion) and active acceptance

During the training I got reminded again of my values, what defines a healthy relationship, to begin with myself. I worked with accepting the fact that things failed, I wasn’t just to blame and having true compassion for what I went through. I was committed to put in the hard work and knew also this would pass. It was an intense, but actually beautiful time as I found myself again like I haven’t before. More confident, more clear in what direction I wanted to go with Studio YAMA and very certain what kind of love I deserved.

And in this time I got to meet my future husband. A new love from Switzerland just like that entered my life, while I was making more plans with Studio YAMA. It was the most interesting and beautiful time as we got to know each other from a place of clarity, trust, honesty & true love. I’ve never been so sure as I stayed this time very close to my values, what I wanted and present in all that happened.

As I was working with ACT so closely during this time of big changes I believe it helped me a lot to reflect, to stay grounded and truly stay connected to who I am.

And that’s what I pass on in my coaching. A space to reflect, being seen and safe to release and coming back to what matters most to you. Being centered and grounded in your values helping you move more freely through life.
